Man this book!!!!

In chapter 3, I began to realize a few things. In my opinion from the moment and the way Anne has acted leads me to think and now know of time travel.  Count me in!!!! I know many of you would love to become connected with someone you admire. To actually see what they see, feel and hear. This lady is actually in the realm of how Anne became significant. She's in the courtyard trying to remember anything she can about King Henry VIII. Too late!!! He has listened to her talk and mumble to herself yet he finds it amusing. When she finally turns around to face the King many thoughts pour out of her mind.  The first one that I can think of is she thinks he's absolutely majestic. And this is after she starts to realize the last time they saw one another. King Henry VIII wanted her to be his mistress and she was not having that. LOL Anne even mentions how handsome he is and confident he looked. And this is while she is telling herself of how big and burly he would soon be towards the end of his life. While the king is still married to Katherine, he admits his sins and realizes he wants to annul the marriage. He wants Anne to become his queen, but asks her to keep this on the hush hush until his counsel can figure out how to handel this. I found myself thinking many times if King Henry VIII was actually not a king, then would these women flaunt themselves at him so willingly? Perhaps this is because he is the king, but is this really love of one another or love of material things? For as long as I can remember from back then, when lovers were together most of them were in different countries. And you expect a handsome king as every woman thought to be faithful throughout?  Not happening. I've said it before and I'll say it again, long distance relationships do not work. However,  if you are the current king of England and women are litteraly throwing themselves at you, what do you do?  Anne seems like she's a very strong woman with her head held up high and evidentally she does not give in so easily to the king. Maybe it could be that the saying of anyone playing hard to get intrigues the curiousity. King Henry VIII's mentality is that of a lion on the prey. It's like a game to him in which he clearly accepts the challange.

  1. Yes, I'm so glad you are on board with the time travel genre. Who would you trade places with in time, Kion?

Haha, on the "hush hush." Love it. I love when modern day Anne tries to keep her pro-feminist ideas on the "hush hush" when she wants to cuss out the male chauvenistic tendencies Henry is forcing on Anne. However, she experiences this dating a married man in modern times too. The more time changes, the more it stays the same.

I think it is so interesting when she starts remembering things Tudor era Anne would only know (like childhood memories).

I agree about distance. Also, seems like modern day gold digging tendancies in Tudor dynasty. Agree? Lol...

Funny you say that about him being like a lion hunting prey. Henry was called a lion in history. In fact, here is a book about that... http://www.amazon.com/Lions-Court-Derek-Wilson/dp/0712665293

And, here is a quote about him: "If a lion knew his strength, it were hard for
any man to hold him.- Sir Thomas More of Henry VIII"

    Great post again, Kion!

Woo, try to fix your font to be bigger, though :) I'm OLD haha.

  4. Ms. Hanson, I'm not sure who I would trade places in time for. There are quite a few I would not mind switching places with. And @Motomama I should have known you read more ahead of time;-) Nothing wrong with getting ahead in order to stay ahead.

  5. @Pierro, I think I have a perspective on from then to now. its a similarity in that men possess qualities a woman desires in the begining because hell; who wants to start right of the bat with flaws? Women and men both thrive on each others undivided attention. Its has been so cliche that women Use sex for love and men use love for sex. And what I don't agree with Is if a woman is well known for getting around she called a excuse me for this whore, yet men? Lol! Just because Anne's sister Mary had a reputation of a whore she was eventually the outcast. However, The king is also well known and was still married at the time but in my sarcastic voice...,.im sorry but he is the king so its okay. Lol....ummmm no this is not how it works. Lol. And this is how Anne's father Thomas Boyle was. So far she's given good praise about her mother Elizabeth but this family is the family that preys.
